Veteran speed racing guru's Jeff, Jerry and Larry Norberg began Slingshot Straightline Snowmobile Racing in the early 1980's starting with a 1985 Yamaha Phazer. After spending many successful years racing in the Vintage Divisions, they moved into the Open Modified Division and saw even more success securing consecutive NSSR/ISR Championships in both the 600 and 700 classes since 2007 and setting several track records along the way, ultimately retiring as class champions in both divisions in 2012.
In 2009 Slingshot Straightline Snowmobile Racing expanded their racing crew and race stable and entered the Pro Stock Division in the 700 class. That inaugural season saw marked success and set a new focus for the future in the Pro Stock Championship Divisions.
Since 2012 Slingshot Straightline Snowmobile Racing has continued to expand by added both an 800 and 600 Pro Stock machine, an 800 for the Super Stock division, a 540 Yamaha SRV for the Dial-In Class, 3 additional crew members and 2 new drivers to the mix of speed and mayhem.
We look forward in 2019 to many new advancements and opportunities within the snowmobile racing circuit including the possibility of local exhibition races in the region as well as expanding the opportunities to bring the youth into the sport of Straightline Racing. We encourage everyone to check out our schedule on the home page, come see the races, and stop by our trailers and say hello.
